We’re excited to announce that we’ve snagged a local Irish personality, publican and radio announcer to MC our Davis Ampitheatre Family Stage at the 2018 Magners Sydney Irish Festival. Gerry Faulkner is a Millthorpe publican as well as the host of “Ireland Down Under” on Orange community radio station FM107.5. Gerry is from Galway but came to Australia 24 years ago and decided to stay. Ireland’s loss is the Magners Sydney Irish Festival’s gain!

As a founding member of the famed Druid Theatre in Ireland, Gerry graced the bare boards with distinction and acted in several Druid Theatre productions in the 70’s and 80’s with famed Irish actress and Tony winner, Marie Mullen and her husband, acclaimed actor, Sean McGinley.

He’s also MC’d mediaeval banquets at Dunguaire Castle in Co. Galway, and hosted international stars and writers such as Peter O’Toole, Richard Harris, Leon Uris and Roger Moore. Now he gets to MC Bananas in Pyjamas, Nick Jnr.’s PAW Patrol and our Irish dancing contingent at the Davis Amphitheatre Family Stage at the Magners Sydney Irish Festival. Some more big names to add to his CV.
